CASIDA FOR CONGRESS TAKES ACTION ON NDAA
Casida says that blatant violation of Bill of Rights is “Offensive” and “Inexcusable”
(Pueblo, CO) Tisha Casida, Independent candidate for the 3rd Congressional District of Colorado, has started to notify the sheriffs in Colorado’s district three about their duty to protect Colorado citizens against the federal government if federal law is violating the Constitution of the United States.
“The passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and its vague interpretation concerning ‘belligerent acts’ is of concern to all citizens,” says Casida. She said that it is imperative that people understand that at this point in time, with the verbiage as is, any citizen could be detained without due process. “This is a blatant, offensive, and inexcusable affront to the American people and our Constitutional rights,” says Casida.
El Paso County Commissioners and Sheriff Terry Maketa of El Paso County, Colorado, have recently introduced a resolution for their county that will protect their citizens from such violations. Casida believes that the same should be done in each of the 29 plus counties that are in the third congressional district. “County sheriffs are the law of the land and one of Colorado citizen’s final checks on unconstitutional acts of the federal government”. She believes it is her job as a citizen and candidate to make sure that her constituency is aware of the role and responsibility of county sheriffs, so in addition to the letter being sent out, she is sending or hand-delivering copies of Sheriff Richard Mack’s County Sheriff: America’s Last Hope to every sheriff in the district.
The letters themselves and more information concerning the NDAA can be found on Casida’s website (www.casida2012.com).
Casida, a small business owner, was inspired to run as an Independent in the third congressional district after seeing the events of the 2010 election as well as her own encounters with local, state, and federal government.
“A nation of well informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins.” – Benjamin Franklin
